ZoneAlarm's whitelist-based approach ensures almost no external access attempts or rogue internet connections are allowed through. Unfortunately, this also means every program must be allowed through, which can become annoying with many programs.

ZoneAlarm has been my firewall for years (the free version), and I have always been satisfied
In fact, I bought the ZoneAlarm CD with all the features provided.
